About Me

My photo
I started reading comics regularly after 'Final Crisis: Rage of the Red Lanterns'. Since then, I've become a co-host on 'The LanternCast' (a podcast dedicated to Green Lantern that's been on the air since 2008), started a new podcast covering the late 1980's DC series Action Comics Weekly (appropriately titled The Action Comics Weekly Podcast), and have been the curator of THE blog on the internet dedicated to the character of Ragman, created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert published by DC Comics starting in 1976 and currently appearing on The CW show 'Arrow' as portrayed by actor Joe Dinicol. I'm an avid fan of comics, classic rock, and speaking my mind. Welcome!

VIDEO UNBOXING - The New McFarlane Ragman Figure is HERE!

A few weeks back my order from McFarlane Toys came in the mail. Nicely packaged and, for the most part, no damage on any of my three Ragman figures or their boxes (except for one minor ding but hey, ONE of the Ragman figures WAS intended to be taken out of the box).

I got a bit in my head about doing the unboxing video. With the trading card unboxing videos on LanternCastVIDS at least I bring some preparation into it. I know what cards are in the set. I know the rarity. I have chase cards I'm looking for that can bring some potential excitement to each opening. And of course the cards in the set are usually comic characters I'm familiar with and can "fill the air" between packs talking about art or comic history for a given character.

But with an action figure...there's an expertise I lack. I'm not able to talk to design, scaling, the paint job, articulation, etc. But I finally got over that and recorded my video...only for iMovie to bite me in the ass.

For some reason, every time I exported the video, it came out only 8 minutes long. Well, it played the full 31 minutes or so, but only the first 8 minutes played before the video and audio stopped (though the player kept running). No matter what I did (and I exported the file five separate times) it failed in that way. Being someone who hates video editing to begin with, I got frustrated and realized it meant I needed to start the project over again...thus more procrastination at the prospect of a complete do over. BUT I DID IT.

Now for your pleasure, my unboxing and review of the 2024 Collector Edition Ragman (ShadowPact) from McFarlane Toys!
